PP....a CNE... PP's log started as one of Pauline Murray-Parahi's masters projects and is slowly evolving into a learning journey... a passion for nurse teaching and starting a PHD
your presentation is very impressive. I think when this semester is over I might get to & experiment with some of these sights. I feel very guilty doing anything like that for pleasure during semester.
Hi Marina... thanks for the feedback... did you 'get' my Campbells soup reference.. or the origins? I didn't want to be too obvious or so subtle as to be obtuse- hopefully I reached some middle ground...ah who cares it was fun and I learned heaps! I think you have to [experiment] to get through this course and to get the most out of it ... Like Don Norman says it's all about the total experience. Just out of curiosity do you read for pleasure??? Life's too short to feel guilty especially about sucking the marrow out of lifelong learning opportunities... particulalry the serindipidous ones-my personal favourites! But if you refer to authorSTREAM... honestly it is easier than slide share- you should try it. Must go and add a comment to your site because it pleases me...and I have no remorse at all in doing so (lol). again many thanks Marina :)PP PS good to see I'm not the only late owl:)
I agree with you - I could read Donald's writing all day long... but have you noticed how his beliefs on certain aspects have changed over time? I think it is funny that in a number of his essays he is responding to feedback to essays he has written previously.
Assignment 2? Yes. I'm making thigs last till the 11th hour though- only now it's not because I am procrastinating - besides being busy (like everyone else- inlcuding poor Ian it seems...1100 emails.... it would sound like my work- but I don't get the opportunity - Dept Health -finite resources (and mean email allowances)- maybe that's the solution for Ian- reduce his email limit...NO I take that back! I could be one of my assignments that bounces!).... but I digress...oh sad... that's right... I realised I only have 2 assignments to go before I finsh this masters... and I'm a little sad about it. Maybe I have developed a co-depend relationship with UOW- they get my fees and I know study is the only time when my mind has a semblance of discipline. I really have to find a supervisor for my PHD... I might design a webpage or blog.... desperately seeking supervisor... I digress aagain sorry Jo... Your observation....I hadn't consciously noticed your observation...but now you mention it.... yeaaaaaaahhhh thats a very good point! ...but come to think of it- don't we all do that? Change our minds- isn't that the whole aprehending thingo...
I know I do...
lifelong learning is an iterative process (not the life... the long-learning bit). It's a bit like action learning- probably why I like that type of research method so much. My problem is that (probably fearing repeating myself) I often miss out on including important information(in assignments/posts on my blog etc)- assuming I have already told the reader about it...(maybe they'd be bored?)... perhaps because I have already spoken or written about it particularly comments on blogs Or maybe 'I' just bore easily.
I managed to get a copy of his book 'The design of everyday things'... I made (bribed) my little sister (who is studying law/journalism) pick it up from her uni library :)...
he writes so simply- very easy to get lost in it- I think he writes like I think- I get lost (sidetracked) in that too or perhaps he has the whole user thing down pat. Thanks for your comments- made me think... Take care Jo :)PP
Live long and prosper... but in the meantime learn and share as much as you can! (you might even get flowers).. Learning is pure joy but sharing it is sublime . :) PP
