Perplexed?
Don't be.... I discovered my AuthorStream video (AKA slideshow assignment 1) wasn't working and in an attempt to restore it I inadvertantly found another button and deleted the whole thing. So if you haven't seen it or commented before- feel free. Although I noticed there are very few bloggers. Iam resisting this trend and despite the whole assignment pressure thing...I'm doing a salmon.... swimming against the current (blogging and posting my way upstream). Fellow Bloggers... I challenge you to do likewise!

Hey Star trekky. what's a tricorder?
ReplyDeleteA tricorder is the thing Spock is carrying (pointy-eared guy on the right)...it is used to detect lifesigns, HUMAN!...sorry... I mean... Terrestrial Albicans.

PS thanks for your comments.... nice to see someone post a comment....it's lonely out in space:(

ReplyDeletePS... tricorder is the hi-fidelity protoype of the dynamap and similar higher tech devices used in high dependancy and Intensive Care Units... but it was invented by a scifi producer Gene (short for genius) Roddenberry, probably before I was born. If you want to see design.... check out Star Trek... we're still catching up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki

Hi Pauline. Sorry, I have to admit my mind has been preoccupied with assignments (other subject). My head is a little clearer (for now anyways) so I might just pop on here a bit more again...
ReplyDeleteGood on you Jo... knew I could count on you and Vicks! Keep up the momentum!

ummm ummm ta da!!! (does a quick step around and then pops out again)
ReplyDeleteThanks also for the comment. The header is the same as it always was - just wanted to have some fun. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow are you going with assign 4?
Good work....like I said....cool (if I didn't that's what I meant to say.)
ReplyDeleteMMM.... assignment 4?- I've changed my mind about half a dozen times. I made a booklet, a survival guide for CNEs new to multimedia...then thought...that's crap! I might do an instuctional video about how to revamp a user-unfriendly webpage...get my nephew to do a guest spot (the web designer) and my brother-in-law (baratone southener from south Carolina)to do the voice over...but I think the problem of my vasilation stems from the feedback (or lack of feedback) issue...without it makes deciding all the more difficult, because depending on the results I'll either have to do extrememly well or I can relax feel confident and enjoy the learning and doing- like I did when I got assignment 1 back. But no telling how I did with the others because with the first one I thought (compared to other students' work) wasn't all that- yet the mark surprised me and so I felt confident with the others (always a bad sign) and still waiting to find out- the longer it takes the less confident I become. Does that make sense?
Enough about me....What are you doing? I'd love to get some insight from an arty designer....do tell your brilliant strategy and what is your focus?

Now don't forget I am an instructional designer - so in my work I come up with the ideas and give them on to someone else to create... so it is the making I am having some issues with. The ideas always look so good in my head... (fortunately I have fabulous graphos and devs who create the ideas I think of for work)
ReplyDeleteI like your instructional video idea! Sounds great - can't wait to see it!
I am looking at Gestalt Theory and have a lot of ideas on the go, but no real gathering into a final piece yet. Unfortunately the assignment for my other subject is taking preference at the moment.
Thanks Jo... maybe I’ll have to make some modifications... I know about the head space thing...currently I've got a Cecil B. DeMille production might be too ambitious- given I haven't done too much reading- I find it has to be rivetting- but I do have a thing for Gestalt though... but I want to have fun with it (the video not Gestalt)...so we shall see. Good luck with both assignments I'm looking forward to seeing it.... no pressure now though...
